|Lent Mid-Week Sermon Series|
Wednesdays in Lent at 8:00 PM
Ash Wednesday is February 14, 2018 (Lent begins)
Mid-Week Worship every Wednesday in Lent at 8:00 PM
This year we will ENCOUNTER God on the mountaintops of the Bible, even as we feel we are stuck in the valleys.
We will visit Mount Sinai, Mount Tabor, Mount Gerazim, Golgatha and the Mount of Olives through maps, and pictures. We will travel through the stories together as we search for meaning in our wonderful and crazy world.
Don’t know where they are ? Don’t know why they are significant ? Don’t know what they mean for you ?
What a great reason to join us every Wednesday in Lent at 8:00 PM
|Week One||February 21 – Mount Gerazim – Family Troubles with Abraham and Isaac|
|Week Two||February 28 – Mount Sinai – Standing in the Presence|
|Week Three||March 7 – Mount Tabor – Blinded by the Light – the Transfiguation|
|Week Four||March 14 – The Sermon on the Mount –|

Taking Another Look at Luther’s Small
When was the last time you read the Small Catechism by Martin Luther – when you were a middle school student? When you became a member of a Lutheran church? Never?
Luther’s set of instructional questions and answers about the Christian faith is often used to teach young people in confirmation class, but its insights can be valuable to more than just the young. So, what does it mean for us today as we continue our journey of faith?
Join us as we try to answer that question by re-examining this important Lutheran document. You will be glad you did – this is most certainly true!
This series will be taught by Professor Cynthia Chambers, Associate Professor at St. John’s University.
Starts February 21 at 7:00 PM
